Long Description:
Trench is a 2-player abstract game like chess, but the games are much quicker. It takes minutes to learn but a lifetime to master. The board is basically a chessboard turned sideways with a line diagonally across the middle, called the Trench. Based on the Trench warfare of WWI, pieces in the Trench cannot be taken from enemy territory & can charge out, taking multiple pieces on the same turn. There are 5 ranks of pieces, which are shaped with either 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 levels to signify their rank. A rank 1 can move 1 space. A rank 2 can move 2 spaces, but with additional options for directions. A level 3 can move 3 spaces, also with increased options on directions & so on. You win either by total elimination or on points. No experience necessary. Featured at the Mind Sports Olympiad.
