Lead your (asymmetrical) Lion guardians and fight off mythological beasts to the beat of your (multifunctional) drum cards in this area control game inspired by Asian legend, namely lion-dancing!

Long Description:
Insatiable Nian beasts, who traditionally appear at Lunar New Year, are endangering the local village. Villagers beat the ritual drums to impel the local Lion guardians to act—“lion-dance” which wards off evil and bestows blessings.
In this competitive game for 2-4 players, tactically layer multifunctional drum cards (the music of lion-dance) to move Lions across board heights (the movement of lion-dance) to perform actions and position for scoring. Spend resources to attach motifs, furthering Lion specialization. Once prepared, battle the Nian beasts (the meaning of lion-dance) to expel the terror.
Whether desiring to experience Asian culture or revel in a fresh tableau building experience with minis, this event introduces the 2026 project Lionwake. Participants appear in the rulebook and are entered into a free pledge drawing.
