The hottest disco in New York City pulses through a sweltering night in 1978. The dance floor is packed with everyone who matters and everyone who wants to: musicians chasing their next hit, scene kids chasing fame, celebrities hiding in plain sight, record executives making quiet deals, dealers working the shadows, and those who simply came to dance until morning.
But tonight is not just another perfect night under the mirror ball.
Someone believes this is the ideal moment to ascend, to shed the limits of flesh and become something luminous, eternal, untouchable.
Someone else believes disco itself is a corruption that must be erased, and that a single spectacular act will make this place a warning.
The music is loud. The air is electric. And before the night ends, the dance floor may become a threshold.
