It is the summer of 1939. The Great Depression is causing challenges everywhere. In the coastal towns of Northern California, fishermen and small farmers keep some of the trouble at bay. The town of Tabor’s Cove is one such place. The WPA has built libraries and the USDA helps supply workers at harvest time.
But trouble finds a way into even the most isolated places. A child disappears, and then another. Rumors tell that children in others towns in both California and Oregon have disappeared. Many children are having nightmares.
