Such a celebration in Edinburgh Castle, mead and ale and roast meat with your king, Alexander III! But now the king has announced that he will go this evening to Kinghorn in Fife, to be with the queen, whose birthday is tomorrow. A storm is brewing and the sun is setting, but nothing will dissuade your liege from riding tonight. You and a few others are ordered to join him, as the king must never travel alone. You mount up and ride forth, as rain begins to fall and lightning cracks the skies, reflecting in Alexander’s eyes and strange smile. May the road tonight be easy!
