The small mining town of Glitter Bend has been overrun with a fighting force representing the interest of Abner Cornichon, the country's foremost supplier of a powerful magical ore known as urd. Some of the townsfolk have escaped and made their way to Cold Creek seeking anyone willing to aid in freeing Glitter Bend from Cornichon's iron grip.
