Beyond the comforts and noise of the modern world, in the midst of Lovecraft Country along old route 12 lies Stillwater Lake. A picturesque, but somber expanse of dark, glassy depths. To local developer Blake Nedley, the tomblike silence of this New England locale would be a perfect place to develop a lakeside neighborhood. However, two local schoolchildren recently vanished along the lake’s shore, their final footsteps ending where the reeds grow thick. As members of the newly expanded Mystery Inc., you have been hired to find out what happened to these children, to allay reticent mysteries, and dispel fears of foul play.
