"The western Dales descend into a thickly-wooded vale: Cedargate, the land in the shadow of the wild Craggen Highlands. Year by year, the Woodwards stand watch from towers and walls, sworn to repel aggressors from the Highlands, whether vicious raiders or rampaging beasts.
This year has been difficult. Raids have been more frequent, by parties in larger numbers. The Woodwards seek allies from outside of Cedargate to help weather this storm. To some, it feels as if Cedargate will surely fall. As willing Dalesfolk travel to Cedargate to take up arms, a new threat draws near: a terrifying beast unlike
anything seen in the Dales. The monster’s appearance is only the start of a desperate journey into the Highlands that may reveal new friends and new foes alike.
