Long Description:
Scouting America’s Game Design Merit Badge is a program that many young scouts find appealing as active gamers. Scouts are required to connect with the industry, make their own prototypes, and start on a path that can lead them to be the professionals of tomorrow.
The session will be a discussion and planning session for game store owners and game design professionals to learn more about the merit badge, connect with their local scouting organizations, and understand the demographic. Building this relationship can create more community for local game stores and translate to success. Merit Badge Counselor and Troop Committee Chair Owen Conklin will discuss other points of safety and leadership in scouting and brainstorm with the group ways to provide resources to young people in fun ways.
