Protect your work with a copyright. Control how others use your work with a license. Possible? How? Why? 25 years ago I helped create the OGL to address these issues. Publishing in a post-OGL world.

Long Description:
The internet is full of people who will confidently tell you what you can and cannot do with a copyright, what you can and cannot protect with a copyright, how and why you should use a copyright license, and most of them are wrong. Copyright law is a very grey, ever-changing field shaped by judicial decisions more than the written law. Recent Supreme Court decisions shape that law in important ways that invalidate a lot of internet legal advice. Three years ago Hasbro blew up the safe harbor of the OGL, and an explosion of licensing activity followed. This panel will explore the law, recent decisions, theories about copyright and games, and strategies for licensing.
