Long Description:
Join us for a relaxing exploration of sashiko, the beautiful Japanese art of decorative running stitch! In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll learn how these simple stitches can transform your clothes, accessories, and home goods – whether you're mending a beloved piece or adding artistic flair to something new.
We'll start with the basics, discovering how to create the signature evenly-spaced stitches that make sashiko so distinctive. You'll learn about traditional tools and materials while practicing geometric patterns that can be used to visibly mend, reinforce worn areas, or simply add a handmade touch to any project.
We'll show you how to plan your design for different applications – from patching jeans to decorating tote bags. You'll leave with completed practice pieces and the skills to continue exploring at home.
