A hands-on workshop where you put together a dungeon adventure and run it right then and there? Yes, indeed! You’ll learn the “core loop” of GMing for aspiring, novice, and skill-seeking game masters.

Location:

/ Senate I
Long Description:
A hands-on workshop for aspiring, novice, and skill-seeking game masters. You start by preparing a short adventure in a creative and collaborative “dungeonstorming” exercise. Then you take turns running the adventure as the GM, round-robin style, applying the principles of the Describe-Listen-Judge core loop of GM practice and getting feedback from the workshop facilitators. You’ll build your skills at responding to player-initiated action, engaging players in the moment, and role-playing to reveal information and build narrative. If you’ve always wanted to run a game but never have, this is the perfect low-risk, high-reward opportunity to try it out!
This extended 4-hour version of the Practical GMing workshop digs into the core loop and gives you more time in the GM seat.
